This second edition of Ahaba Amaka Award is specially dedicated to individuals who since 2008 till about 2017 committed their energies, talents, expertise, resources; they also made various sacrifices, risked their personal comfort, career prospects and other potential discomforting circumstances, just to break the silence regime preventing war time criminal atrocities against Ndi Ahaba during the Nigerian Civil War from coming to limelight.

Announcing Rationale Behind 2nd Edition Of Ahaba Amaka Award, 2024

 

 

One of the founding organisations of this award, an online media outfit, Asaba Post News Wire, has the theme of it media outfit, hinged and built around the war time crimes of the Nigerian Civil War against Ahaba folks, which, the media outfit popularly tagged "October 7th 1967 Asaba Genocide", even when other media firms, academic institutions, others might freely use the term "Asaba Massacre" of which, we hold no grudge against them for doing so.

To this end, the leadership and management of the media outfit deemed it necessary and vital to dedicate the second edition of this Pro-Ahaba Award to recognise some persons who went out of their ways at making sure that the silence which sealed, prevented, the world from knowing about war time crimes against Ahaba people but laboured so hard at changing the narrative.

We are so proud of them, to us at Asaba Post Media Solutions, Save Asaba Group and Ahaba Sustainability Agenda, these individuals identified both in the first and second editions of this Pro-Ahaba Award, these individuals are our champions and heroes.

THE REASON FOR AHABA AMAKA AWARD

 

This below is the simple summary of the maiden edition of Ahaba Amaka Award. 

Between 2021 through 2023, some Ahaba folks believed in what we do at Itah Di Na Ahaba, (a Facebook based news outfit) they gave us opportunity to cover, publish and circulate on social media their events.

Now we are moving to the next level of pro-Ahaba development, using the United Nation's Sustainable Development Goals (UN-SDGs) framework of action.

Our awardess are our proud partner on this next level, so we are proud to have them as our partners via this award presentation project.

We are heavily committed at adding our quota at helping to build a better Ahaba, using best global standard and framework of action, that will enable us witness a progressive #Ahaba
